Island Life

For those of you new to the island, Aloha and Welcome! Island Life offers many experiences, like beautiful beaches, gorgeous hikes, tasty food, and a rich history to explore. However, with that comes a few adjustments as well. Below is a list of recommended activities, things to remember, and safety tips!

TO DO
Keep in Mind

The island is often humid, and it can rain at any time throughout the year. Check the weather before packing. Because O'ahu is a tropical Island, little creatures and bugs scurry about. Make sure to pack bug spray if you're allergic!

Pack sunscreen! If you forgot, don't worry; there's plenty available at the markets here.

For Your Safety

Never turn your back on the ocean. Please don't swim alone. Always have a buddy, and be careful at night! Before your trip, read this on how to safely navigate riptides to ensure you and your family's safety.

You may also book an AirBnb or VRBO. Please be aware that the laws for many of these properties on the island have shifted and may require a 30-day minimum booking. Read the fine print before committing to anything!

The Manowar jellyfish are common during certain months. If you see little purple bubbles floating on the water's surface or sitting on top of the sand, simply avoid contact. They aren't poisonous, but the sting is no fun!
